Penn State scandal...

Penn State assistant coach Joe Sandusky

"Chester Chester Child Molestor" I must admit for a while I've been confused with just what was going on with the Penn State molestation allegations So I found a timeline that breaks down everything and I gotta say its wayyyy worse than I thought...This mess goes back to 1977 check it out.

Penn State scandal timeline

The start of the awful chain of events that has shaken Penn State can be traced to 1977, when assistant football coach Jerry Sandusky founded a group home for boys that grew into a statewide charity. It was through this program, called The Second Mile, that Sandusky met the boys he is charged with sexually abusing over a span of 15 years.
A look at the victims and events, as reported by the grand jury:

DATETHE VICTIMSACTION
1994
Victim 7, who is now 26, meets Sandusky at age 10. He said he often slept at Sandusky’s house and went to football games with him. He told the grand jury that Sandusky touched him in ways that made him uncomfortable, particularly during car rides and when they showered after working out. Victim 7 knew Victim 6.None taken at the time.
1995 or 1996
Victim 5, who is now 22, meets Sandusky as a third-grader. He recalled that when he was 8 to 10, Sandusky pinned him against a wall in a shower and touched him inappropriately. Victim 5 had gone to games with Sandusky and Victim 6.None taken at the time.
1996 or 1997
Now 27, Victim 4 is invited to a picnic by Sandusky at age 12 or 13. He said they had physical contact while swimming at that first outing. He said he was assaulted by Sandusky repeatedly on campus, at bowl games — he was listed in Sandusky's family party at bowl games in 1998 and 1999 — and in the hotel where the football team stayed before home games.None taken at the time.
1998
Victim 6, then 11 and now 24, comes home with wet hair. He tells his mother that Sandusky showered with him and hugged him and touched him inappropriately. The mother calls university police.May 13 and 19, 1998: University police investigate. Police record a phone call between Sandusky and the boy's mother in which Sandusky acknowledged showering with the boy and others.

June 1: In an interview with a detective and an investigator from the Pennsylvania Department of Public Welfare, according to court papers, Sandusky admits hugging the boy in the shower and promises not to shower with children again. The detective says another boy told a similar shower story. He could not be subpoenaed because he is in the military out of the country.

Centre County District Attorney Ray Gricar chooses not to prosecute Sandusky and the investigation ends.
1999
Sandusky retires from football but keeps an office in the football building and retains access to Penn State facilities, including locker rooms.
Summer 2000
Victim 3, who is now 24, is between 7th and 8th grade when Sandusky touched him inappropriately in gym and locker room showers and in the basement bedroom in Sandusky's home. Victim 3 knew Victim 4 spent a lot of time with Sandusky.None taken at the time.
Fall 2000
Janitor Jim Calhoun tells co-workers and a supervisor that he saw Sandusky performing oral sex on Victim 8, who was pinned against a wall in a locker-room shower. Fellow janitor Ronald Petrosky says he saw two people in the assistant coaches' shower that night and waited for them to leave before he cleaned it. He says Sandusky left the shower with a boy who appeared to be age 11 to 13.Supervisor Jay Witherite told Calhoun where to report what he saw, if he wanted to report it. None of the three makes a report.
2002
Mike McQueary, a 28-year-old graduate assistant at the time, says he saw Sandusky sexually assaulting Victim 2 in the shower around 9:30 p.m. McQueary calls his father, who tells him to alert Paterno. Victim 2 was never identified.March 2, 2002: McQueary, who is now the Penn State receivers coach, reports the assault to Coach Joe Paterno.

March 3: Paterno tells Athletic Director Tim Curley. About 10 days later, Curley and Gary Schultz, a university vice president, meet with McQueary, who says he told them he saw Sandusky having sex with a boy in the shower. No one calls law enforcement or tries to locate the boy.

Later in March: Curley bars Sandusky from bringing children onto the Penn State campus and reports McQueary’s story to The Second Mile and to university president Graham Spanier. Spanier approves Curley’s handling of the situation.
2005 to 2009
Victim 1 meets Sandusky in 2005 or 2006 at age 11 or 12. Sandusky assisted with football at the victim's Clinton County school and sometimes met with the boy alone. Wrestling coach Joe Miller said he saw Sandusky lying on top of the boy near a climbing wall in 2006 or 2007. Sandusky, who did not coach wrestling, claimed they were "working on wrestling moves." Victim 1 said Sandusky performed oral sex on him more than 20 times in 2007 and early 2008.2009: The mother of Victim 1 calls the high school to report that her son was sexually abused by Sandusky. The school district bans Sandusky from all its campuses and calls the police. The current investigation is launched.
